Kids
"Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! Indeed, God's Kingdom belongs to such as these!" - Jesus
"More is caught than taught."At Big Life, we know kids are "do-ers;" some of the worst experiences for a kid are those that involve sustained boredom! At big life, there will always be something fun for Grade School kids to "do" during the Message portion of the big life worship event, activities and games mindful of their age and abilities, that still allow them to "catch" the personal and family experience of practicing Christian faith in Jesus.
Children of all ages are welcome to participate in the worship service, including Communion, per their parent's/ guardian's decision. There are also tables in the back of worship with coloring books and activities if little hands need to stay busy during worship! Kids' TimeGrade School kids who are not yet ready to stay in worship and listen to the Message are offered their own separate Kids' Time. Crafts, activities, games, videos, and even mission projects give kids a meaningful and varied faith experience while the church hears the pastor's Message. Activities and games have a faith lesson with real life application to behavior, choices, and living a life of Christian character based on the virtues one learns in the Gospels and the Bible.
The kids are invited to go to Kids' Time right after the Opening Songs. They return to the main worship after the Message, during the Closing Songs. However, any child can certainly stay with their parents and listen to the Message if they choose. Junior High Gathering*We encourage all JHS students to attend Wyldlife JHS group held at the Oswego YMCA as part of the YoungLife ministry.
During church, JHS students have their own balcony space, learn how to worship, and follow along through an interactive worksheet. They also often have a 15-20 minute get together after worship service to talk together, play games, crafts, and even do mission projects. |
